AL SHABAB CLUB HISTORY
Literally translated to “The Youth”, Al Shabab live up to their name as a historic factory of talent within Saudi football, producing the likes of Saeed Al Owairan, scorer of one of the best goals in FIFA World Cup history, and Fuad Anwar, the first Saudi player to score a World Cup goal.
Al Shabab hold the distinction of being the first club established in Riyadh and their history is matched by honours. Their most recent top-tier title came in the 2011-12 campaign, when they went undefeated.
Stacked with talent, the Al Shabab class of 2024-25 includes the RSL’s second-highest scorer of all-time, in Abderrazak Hamdallah, ex-Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Daniel Podence, and former Monaco and Atletico Madrid man, and current Belgium international, Yannick Carrasco.
