Al Hilal superstar Al Dawsari now RSL's all-time creator-in-chief

Salem Al Dawsari’s corner met the head of Mohammed Kanno to power Al Hilal in front at Al Taawoun, and a Roshn Saudi League superstar added another layer to his legendary status.

In creating Saturday night’s opener in the 2-0 win in Buraidah, Al Dawsari climbed to 54 assists in the Saudi Arabian top flight. It lifted him one clear of compatriot Yahya Al Shehri in the all-time charts, meaning the Al Hilal captain had now laid on more goals than anyone in RSL history.

To be fair, Al Dawsari has long been considered a standout Saudi in the competition. The Al Taawoun assist only reinforced that reputation.

To this point, the Al Hilal winger has played a pivotal role in the club capturing six league titles, the first arriving almost a decade ago and the most recent coming last season, in scintillating, record-breaking style.

In December 2023, one month after being named AFC Asian Player of the Year, Al Dawsari assisted Aleksandar Mitrovic in a 3-0 Riyadh derby win against Al Nassr to become the sixth player to reach 100 goal combinations in the RSL (59 goals, 41 assists).

In Matchweek 24 of this season, Al Dawsari created another goal in the victory at Al Fayha, again for Mitrovic, to draw level with Al Shehri. He required only one more game to stride beyond him.

Integral in second-placed Al Hilal reducing the gap to leaders Al Ittihad to four points with nine rounds remaining, Al Dawsari ensured a bona-fide RSL legend continues to swell.
