If Riyad Mahrez’s opening season in the Roshn Saudi League is anything to go by, then fans of Saudi Arabian football should be in for a treat in the upcoming campaign.
Mahrez arrived in the RSL last summer, one of a number of marquee additions, as newly promoted Al Ahli sought to make a significant splash on their return to the top flight.
He touched down in Jeddah as a recent treble winner having helped Manchester City to the English Premier League title, the FA Cup, and the club’s first UEFA Champions League crown.
Known for his close control, dazzling skills, eye for a killer pass, and the spectacular goal, Mahrez lit up the RSL last season, registering the most assists of any player in the division, with 13.

Throw in his 11 goals, and countless high-reel moments, and it’s safe to say Mahrez has laid the platform for another standout season in Saudi Arabia. Can he lift Al Ahli to an even higher finish than third this time around?
Judging by the below video, the electric winger might just do exactly that.
