Al Ittihad dominate RSL awards for October

Al Ittihad were the big winners in the Roshn Saudi League awards for October, with Laurent Blanc, Moussa Diaby and Pedrag Rajkovic all recognised.

The Jeddah club enjoyed a perfect month in the RSL, with Blanc guiding his team to four wins from four, beginning with victory at Al Okhdood and culminating with last Thursday’s 1-0 defeat of Al Ahli in the Sea Derby. The flawless record saw Blanc pick up Coach of the Month for October, with Al Ittihad sitting second in the table, one point behind champions Al Hilal.

Goalkeeper of the Month went to Rajkovic, who kept back-to-back clean sheets in his past two league outings, while Diaby was named the RSL Player of the Month. The France winger, who like Blanc and Rajkovic joined the club in the summer, registered an assist in every league match through October and scored in the 3-1 win against Al Qadsiah in Matchweek 7. Diaby leads the assist charts for the entire 2024-25 RSL, with 10.

Meanwhile, Al Shabab’s Musab Al Juwayr continued to be recognised for his super start to the season by collecting a second successive Young Player of the Month award. Al Juwayr, 21, has been thriving at Al Shabab following a September move across Riyadh from Al Hilal days after opening his 2024-25 account with a goal against Damac.

The Saudi Arabia international has found the net in the past two RSL matchweeks, scoring in both the 3-0 win at Al Orobah and Thursday’s 3-1 triumph at home to Al Wehda.
