Schedule confirmed for RSL Matchweeks 1 and 2

The Saudi Pro League’s (SPL) Competitions Department announced on Thursday the dates and kick-off times for Matchweeks 1 and 2 of the 2024-25 Roshn Saudi League.

In scheduling the matches, the following principles have been taken into consideration, subject to external factors such as calendar conflicts with other competitions and any force majeure:

1 – Every matchweek shall take place over the course of three days.

2 - Three matches to be scheduled per day.

3 - Prayer times: in summer months, matches will take place in two times slots. The later kick-offs will be scheduled for 9pm, while the earlier time slots will fall between 6:30pm and 7:30pm, while considering local prayer times.

Based on the above principles, the 2024-25 season kicks off with three matches on Thursday, August 22, when Al Taawoun host Al Fayha at 7:10pm, while the opening day’s two 9pm matches see Al Riyadh travelling to Al Wehda, and Al Nassr playing host to Al Raed.

Matchweek 1 continues with three Friday fixtures: Damac welcome Al Khaleej at 7:10pm, newly promoted Al Orobah play away at Al Ahli at 9pm, and Al Qadsiah face Al Fateh at the same time. The opening weekend concludes on Saturday, August 24, with Al Kholood away at Al Ittihad beginning at 7:10pm, RSL champions Al Hilal starting their title defence away at Al Okhdood at 9pm, and Al Shabab welcoming Al Ettifaq at 9pm also.

The action continues with Matchweek 2 kicking off on Tuesday, August 27, with Al Fateh facing Al Ahli at 6:45pm, then Al Raed playing Al Qadsiah, and Al Fayha hosting Al Nassr, both at 9pm.

On Wednesday, August 28, Al Ettifaq play Al Okhdood at 6:45pm, while Al Hilal face Damac at 9pm and Al Wehda take on Al Orobah at the same time. The second round of games comes to an end on Thursday, August 29, with Al Riyadh playing Al Kholood at 6:55pm, while Al Khaleej host Al Shabab at 9pm, with Al Taawoun welcoming Al Ittihad at 9pm, too.

Dates for Matchweeks 3 to 8 will be announced following the confirmation of AFC competitions’ matches featuring RSL clubs.
