Roshn Saudi League stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema have been named in the 23-player shortlist for the 2023 FIFA FIFPRO Men’s World XI.
The list produced by the International Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPRO) is voted for by over 25,000 professional players from around the world, with each player nominating three goalkeepers, three defenders, three midfielders and three forwards via an online system.
Al Nassr captain Ronaldo has been named in the FIFPRO World XI 15 times, only missing out once since his debut in the XI in 2007. The Portuguese ace ended 2023 as the world’s top goal scorer with 54 goals to his name, including 34 goals in the RSL since joining the Riyadh club in January 2023.
Ronaldo currently leads the scoring charts in the league with 20 goals from 18 appearances.
In turn, Al Ittihad forward Benzema aims to make it two consecutive appearances, having been named in the World XI in 2022 while at Real Madrid.
The Frenchman has nine goals in 15 RSL appearances this campaign in addition to two goals in as many appearances at the FIFA Club World Cup Saudi Arabia 2023.
The 2023 FIFA FIFPRO World XI will be revealed on 15th of January at The Best FIFA Football Awards in London.
