Ten Forwards to Watch – RSL Fantasy

A closer look at ten forwards who could make the difference in your RSL Fantasy team.

Cristiano Ronaldo

The Al Nassr striker has shown no signs of slowing down during his time in the Kingdom and with 13 goals in 12 starts this season and is a key player to have in your squad. It is not only with goals in which Ronaldo will play a decisive role, but also with assists. To date the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has provided seven assists for his team-mates, the joint highest tally in the division.

At SAR 14.0M  the Portuguese superstar is the most expensive player in RSL Fantasy, but add in his penalty taking responsibilities alongside his free-kick abilities and he should be the first name to consider in your fantasy team.

Aleksandar Mitrovic

The big Serbian has 10 RSL goals to his name already this season, and will be confident of bagging a few more in this league leading Al Hilal side. Mitrovic has taken to life in the RSL, and his presence in leading the line has been a valuable asset for the side from Riyadh.

Mitrovic has been sharing responsibilities with Al Hilal captain Salem Al Dawsari over the course of the season. The SAR 12.0M valuation may be considered expensive; however, Mitrovic could prove to be worth the investment over the course of the campaign.

Riyad Mahrez

Algerian superstar Riyad Mahrez has looked a cut above for Al Ahli and is already the joint-top assist maker in the RSL. Throw in five goals and the fact that the former Man City man has started 12 games for his new club, and he has to be a serious consideration for your fantasy team.

Coming in at SAR 10.0M he is the joint third highest costing player in the game, but is well worth considering his impressive start to life with Al Ahli.

Karim Benzema

Fresh from a first ever RSL hat trick against Abha in gameweek 13, you could argue that Karim Benzema is the form attacker in the league right now.

The French striker has eight goals in an Al Ittihad side that has failed to hit top gear in the first third of the season, add in his penalty taking responsibilities and the five-time UEFA Champions League winner looks exceptional value at SAR 9.5M.

Mourad Batna

Al Fateh winger Mourad Batna could prove to be an ideal signing if you are looking for a player outside the traditional top four teams in the RSL.

The Moroccan has been steadily improving during his four seasons in Saudi Arabia and is on course to better his return of 10 goals and 7 assists from the 2022-23 campaign. The 33-year old currently has seven goals and seven assists to his name already this season and comes in at SAR 9.5M, could that prove to be a wise investment in the long run?

Georges-Kevin N'Koudou

With a valuation of SAR 9.0M you could think that attacker Georges-Kevin N'Koudou to be overvalued. However, the former Tottenham Hotspur winger has impressed in his opening games for Damac scoring six goals and providing two assists in 12 RSL outings.

N'Koudou is considered one of the first names on the Damac team sheet under Cosmin Contra and the winger has the second highest figures for carrying the ball behind Riyad Mahrez. Damac return from the international break with an Asir derby clash with Abha. Expect N'Koudou to have a decisive say in the contest.

Moussa Dembele

Al Ettifaq striker Moussa Dembele had been tearing it up in the RSL scoring seven goals in eight starts before being sidelined with a minor knee complaint back in early October. Since the French attacker has been out of action, the Dammam based side has only managed one victory in the RSL.

Head coach Steven Gerrard is confident that Dembele will return after the international break for their crunch game home game against Al Ittihad and will be much needed if Ettifaq are to get a result against the reigning champions. Priced at SAR 8.5M Dembele is one to watch, especially if he hits the ground running on his return from injury.

Fashion Sakala

Zambian international winger Fashion Sakala has enjoyed an eye-catching start to the season at Al Fayah and could be a good value pick in your RSL fantasy side.

The former Rangers man has been ever-present for Al Fayah this season in his first ever season in the Saudi top flight. With six goals in 13 starts, it’s a healthy return for the first third of the campaign.Add in two assists and with an SAR 8.5M valuation, he could get the nod in attack for your fantasy team.

Karl Toko Ekambi

With five goals in nine RSL starts, Cameroonian Karl Toko Ekambi looks like a great value pick at SAR 7.5M. The attacker has started well at Abha and has come up with a number of important goals including a match winning strike against Al Okhdood back in matchday 12.

The former Lyon man is currently being utilized on the wing, and his pace and eye for goal on the counter-attack has been a key factor in Abha racking up four wins and one draw in the RSL to date.

Fabio Martins

The Al Khaleej captain has been leading by example so far for his side in the RSL, providing five goals and two assists in the season so far. The impact of the Portuguese attacker is highlighted even more when you consider that Al Khaleej have only scored on 13 occasions, the fourth lowest tally in the RSL.

Add in his SAR 6.0M valuation, it means Martins could be an ideal budget option if you are looking to splurge more money on some of the bigger names in our list.
